Shop News – May 2016

You can view the latest schedule of workshopsweekly classes and events on our website. Courses are already beginning to fill up so if you would like to book you can find details of how to secure a place here.

As you may know, through our church in Pulham Market we have been sending clothing and funds through the Samarasaid appeal to the refugees in Syria and Iraq and we would just like to thank you to all those who, through the shop have donated in any way to this much needed appeal. We have just sent off 17 boxes filled with adult/child clothing and bedding to help with the desperate situation out there. The orphanage in Thailand however has not been forgotten or forsaken and from all reports is doing well under the amazing leadership of Maythani. If you haven’t been in the shop for a while, ask to see the wonderful photograph they sent us all to say thank you for the funds we sent recently.

We have very sadly lost Lucy after 10 plus very happy years service to us here at Sew and So’s.  Lucy worked with us on Wednesdays and Thursdays but her other job in the library was possibly a little tenuous with the current financial situation and she applied for another full time job to cover herself. To our dismay she got it (we sadly never had any doubt that she wouldn’t!!) and we wish her lots of love, a massive thank you and all the very best in her new venture. We are delighted however to welcome Susan Ryan who is now working with us, with many years experience in the Patchwork and Quilting business, and wish her many happy years with us also.

After much soul searching and discussion with tutors etc we have decided not to hold a Quilt show this year, but hold everything back for next year when all the projected big quilts will be finished and ready for hanging. Now if that isn’t an incentive to get your project finished…….!

We are still getting people coming into the shop with the rumour that we are closing. Can we state categorically that this is not true. That’s not to say that one day if the right person came around with the right price that we might think of retiring, but hey have you seen any flying pink elephants recently?!

Thank you all again so much for your support and have a wonderful summer.

God Bless.

Rob and Verona
