At the time of writing we are in the midst of our Summer Sale which is progressing well and making room we hope for our Christmas (dare we mention it!!) fabrics. This year we have the stunning Moda story “Snowbird” which if you excuse the pun, will fly off the shelf as it is so delicate. We also have the story “Simply Christmas” by Henry Glass, “Holiday Stitches” by SPX Fabrics, Lynnette Anderson’s “Starry Night” by RJR, the beautiful Panel “Christmas,Pure and Simple” by Nancy Halvorsen and a wide range of Makower’s fabrics including Panels and Advent Calendars. So something for everyone we hope.
We have just celebrated our best ever total for our Quilt Show on the 5th/6th of July. With the Prize Quilt Raffle still running we have raised just under £4000. Thank you to everybody who helped in so many different ways; The quilters, the tutors, the cake makers, those who filled the sales tables and those that manned them, all the helpers and not least to all those of you who came along to support us, we hope you enjoyed the experience. We are greatly blessed, thank you again. Half the money is already in Thailand and we will shortly hear how the money is being spent at the Orphanage when Mayathani responds with a receipt.
As you can see from our list of workshops we have a very busy schedule ahead. To accommodate rising numbers we have introduced a Monday morning class which we hope will ease the situation. We also will welcome back Duffy Ideherberg from Belgium who sadly had to cancel her workshops earlier in the year due to the sudden death of her husband. Hopefully all of you will rebook and enjoy her stunning bag classes. Samples are in the shop.
Those of you that attended the quilt show could not have failed to have noticed the number of larger Sampler quilts on display. A lot of these originated in Linda’s weekly classes and workshops, so if you fancy having a go, Thursday’s beginners class is a great place to start a Star Sampler, Saturday an advanced Diagonal Sampler.
We hope you like the workshops we have arranged for you and thank you again for your continued support.
