MARYLEBONE THE BLACK BEAR – Patchwork Panel
(Part three of a trio of Sleepy Bear workshops)
Aitch Bee - Helen Butcher £41 (Book all three bear workshops for the discounted price of £114) Thursday 21 May or Thursday 30 July. 10 am – 3:30 pm Intermediate to advanced sewists
Black Bears are excellent swimmers and climbers but are also known to be solitary creatures. Perhaps that’s why MARYLEBONE, tired after a day’s hunting for food, is taking a peaceful nap in this quiet forest clearing. This panel, created using Helen’s favourite method of Foundation Paper Piecing, would make a great wall hanging or large floor-cushion cover. Full instructions for FPP will be given during the class, but some experience of the technique would be an advantage. Marylebone’s blanket is made in a traditional English Paper Pieced technique, but suggestions for machine stitched alternatives are included in the instructions. Each student will receive a full set of instructions, with colour photographs and diagrams, to complete the project at home. This is a machine sewing class.
MARYLEBONE can be made as a stand-alone project or combined with the other two other bears to make a stunning quilt, hanging or a bed runner.
