Another fabulous mixed media picture from Bev. This picture of the Scottish Highlands is all about layering different materials to capture its wild, textured beauty—think misty mountains, heathland in all its purple glory along with some grazing highland cattle.
Create the effect by layering torn book papers, and a range of fabrics such as cotton, felt, wool, hessian, lace, satin, velvet, sheers and more - time to raid the scraps you have been collecting although Bev will bring her collection of textile scraps as usual. Secure the layers as you go by hand and machine with a variety of threads and stiches to add in more texture. Add highland cattle with free motion stitching - Bev will supply templates for the cattle or feel free to make your own in the day.
Sew and So’s will be on hand with any haberdashery needs and will also be providing a delicious cake from Earsham Street Café and a bowl of fresh fruit each day to keep you going!
