Kaleidoscope Blocks (Stack and Wack) Workshop with Debra Jarrad

Create unique and unexpected octagonal blocks by layering eighth lengths of identical fabric on top of each other.  Cut strips and then triangles using a 45 degree ruler, through different parts of the design, join together and wait for the very pleasing results!  Fabric must be of a bold design with a pattern repeat of approximately 25 cm.  We will create some blocks on the day which will guide you towards making a quilt, runner or cushion in the future.…

Large Project Bag workshop with Annabelle Reynolds

A very useful bag to carry projects and materials to classes for example.  This can be made from a slightly heavier cotton for extra durability if you wish.  Using a large bold print for the main fabric will allow you to make the most of the quilting techniques shown.  The bag also features pockets and a zip closer. (Some pre class preparation such as cutting out may be required to save time on the day).

From Light to Dark lap quilt workshop with Annabelle Reynolds

The key to this striking quilt in the clever placement of light, medium, and dark colours. Achieved with relatively simple looking 1/2 square triangles and 1/4 square triangles the whole effect is down to the choice of fabrics. Twinkle twinkle little star Tablerunner Workshop with Annabelle Reynolds

This versatile runner is made from two blocks. The first contains an eight pointed star, the second is a ’9′ patch. This might seem to be a little on the ordinary side but these blocks are made with random cuts and very few matching points! 3 Dimensional Daisy with Linda Hancock

Following the success of the Crazy Rose flower block we have decided to expand on the floral theme. This is a curved pieced block with some petals inset into the background whilst others are raised giving a three dimensional effect. Weaver Fever with Judi Mendelssohn

What appears as a relatively complicated woven design is actually made up from repeating one deceptively simple block. It requires yardage of fabric so although it looks like it could be made from a strip/jelly roll it is not. Two days of rotary cutting, whizzing along on the machine, more cutting, more whizzing, creating an interesting quilt top. Don’t you just love Judi’s descriptions being complete mumbo jumbo?
