Our new workshops and weekly classes schedule is now available online. Please call to book your place in a class or workshop first before sending off your payment (although obviously you can do both over the phone once your placement has been confirmed).
We are still smarting from the severity of the effects that “the beast from the east” had upon us (and I’m sure many others!). It came at a time when we were getting ready for our biggest spring time show at Duxford. Sadly we had to cancel as we were unable to set up or attend because of road closures and the sheer amount of drifted snow. We felt in hindsight that the show should have been cancelled by the organisers. So our apologies to anyone who had travelled to Duxford to see us, only to be greeted with a no show. We do recognise that many of you still have your “Duxford money burning a hole in your pocket” so we do aim to have a special Show week in the shop in the very near future with some really good deals and offers. Please keep your eyes on our website to find out when.
Before the new term starts we will be sending what we can to St. Joseph’s in Betong, Thailand by post in time for their Easter celebrations. Thankfully it is very simple to send the funds through to them and we thank you all for your generosity in buying the selected fabrics that are on offer solely for their cause. We know the Hoffmann batik charm packs are a snip at £8 simply by the speed at which they are disappearing also the charity bundles at a £1 each! At the current rate there are about 44 Thai baht to the pound. 40 Baht would feed 2 children for the day, so you can see how far your donations will go! Thank you again.
New fabrics are arriving every day now and we have recently taken delivery of the new Moda range, Lilac Ridge and Tilda’s, Lemon Tree collection also Lewis Irene’s, Spindrift and Bee Kind Allium and poppies. Some lovely children’s dinosaur fabrics from Makower too, and dare we say it but some Christmas is arriving soon.
Thanks to the many of you that brought in clothes, shoes, towels, nappies and bedding for our church appeal for articles that we were sending to Syria in January. Rob took up 240 boxes to Nuneaton including crutches and inflatable beds, and yes you’ve guessed it, we are doing the same yet again in May, so if you have any unwanted mens, womens, childrens or baby clothes/shoes etc. it would be greatly appreciated. It would help us tremendously too if you could forewarn us the day before that you are bringing articles so that we can bring the van rather than the car to work to transport everything safely. Please note all these have to be in a good clean condition and would help tremendously if they were buttoned up and folded. Rob’s grizzle from the last few times has had the desired effect and sorting is SO much easier, thank you. The cut off date for us receiving articles will be Friday 18th May.
We hope you like the workshops we have organised for you and as always call the shop ASAP if there is a particular class that you would like to join. These do fill up very quickly in many instances.
Have a wonderful Summer (when it arrives!) and thank you again for your support.
Verona and Rob
